— The Consumer Goods Forum and Capgemini Launch New Assessment Scan and Companion Manual to Help Drive Implementation of the Consumer Engagement Principles
— Companies Now Able to Benchmark Their Consumer Engagement Strategies

PARIS and NEW YORK, 24th June 2015 – The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) today announced the launch of a new assessment scan and companion manual for companies looking to meet the recent Board-approved Consumer Engagement Principles (the Principles). The online assessment scan, developed together with Capgemini, will allow companies to evaluate their consumer engagement strategy and benchmark against their peers across the industry. Meanwhile, the companion manual will allow companies to learn all they need to about the underlying Consumer Engagement Principles Project, its origins and what steps they need to take to begin building and maintaining greater trust with consumers.

Online Assessment Scan Allows Companies to Evaluate Consumer Engagement Strategy
The new assessment scan from Capgemini and the CGF will help companies to evaluate their current consumer engagement strategy and business environment in order to improve consumer trust, and get recommendations on areas for improvement based on benchmark research. It takes less than five minutes to complete and get the results.

New Companion Manual to Support Industry-wide Implementation
A newly-published companion manual answers a number of key questions connected to the creation of the Principles and subsequent steps that are being designed to help drive global uptake across the consumer goods industry. Such questions include “How to guide and manage interaction with or among stakeholders across all digital channels in order to build trust and ensure the industry’s reputation, now and in the future?” The manual also includes sections on:

• the motive behind the Principles;
• the key stakeholders;
• where responsibilities lie;
• what’s next;
• how to participate; and
• the rationale for change.

Ruediger Hagedorn, Senior Manager, Collaborative Value Chain Initiatives & Projects at The Consumer Goods Forum, said, “Our industry remains committed to safeguarding consumer information across digital platforms. The assessment scan and companion manual will play an instrumental role in driving momentum around the Principles and we’re excited about the possibilities for our industry to show real leadership in this area that is critical to build consumer trust”.

Further tools and resources will also be made available in the near future, as the CGF continues to engage its members to join the movement. Those interested in learning more can contact r.hagedorn@theconsumergoodsforum.com
