We are pleased to announce that our Social Sustainability and GSCP Director, Didier Bergeret, will be speaking at the Vigo Dialogue on Decent Work in Fisheries and Aquaculture on 4th October in Vigo, Spain.

The event will be hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and focuses on social responsibility in the seafood sector. It aims at encouraging communication, cooperation and synergies among the different concerned stakeholders. Participants therefore come from a wide range of backgrounds including those from both the private and public sector. This type of cross-sectoral collaboration is directly aligned with the CGF approach and its commitment to tackling forced labour in global supply chains.

Didier will offer key insights into why a collective approach is intrinsic to the success of eradicating forced labour and how the CGF is uniquely positioned to drive this journey, by harnessing the power of its 400+ members. Working closely with governments, civil society and on the ground initiatives is paramount in eliminating forced labour from all global supply chains, including the seafood sector. We therefore welcome opportunities such as this one to engage in fruitful dialogue with other key stakeholders on the topic of forced labour.
