Simon currently performs a Group strategy function for Alliance Boots where his role is to develop new partnerships and business models to accelerate international growth that captures the value of Alliance Boots retail & brands businesses. 

Simon Potts and Angela Francolini Excited by The Consumer Goods Forum’s Global Network and Collaborative Action 
 
PARIS, 20th March 2013 – The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) today announced the appointments of Simon Potts, Alliance Boots, and Angela Francolini, McCormick, as co‐chairs of the Marketing Committee – Activating Shopper & Consumer Insights.  The pair will replace outgoing co‐chairs, Stephen Smith, Asda Stores UK, and Arnaud de Belloy, Nestlé.   
 
Group Strategy Director, Retail & Brands at Alliance Boots, Simon has been at the heart of developing the Boots UK customer offer and business model for much of the last two decades, having led the commercial areas for both healthcare and beauty.  
 
 
Simon commented, “The Consumer Goods Forum provides a unique platform for key players to come together to share insight to help advance today’s consumer goods industry.  I am proud to join the Marketing Committee and to help develop the implementation of best practices along the value chain.” 
 
Vice President – Global Consumer Platform Strategy at McCormick, Angela currently leads the development of category strategies for global consumer core platforms, while also leading the establishment of a best in class marketing organisation globally.  
 
Since joining McCormick in Canada in 1989, Angela has held increasing senior roles in general management, marketing and sales with the recent positions being VP Marketing, McCormick USA‐Consumer; President & CEO McCormick Canada; and presently, VP Global Consumer Platform Strategy.

The appointments follow recent news that the Operational Excellence team are taking their annual event global, with Miami and Tokyo editions already confirmed for 2014 and 2015, respectively. This year’s London event, held on 6‐8th November, is already set to be an enormous success, and the team are delighted that Simon and Angela are on‐board. They will both play key roles in ensuring the events, and the Digital Marketing Project run by the Marketing Committee, hit their mark and generate real value for CGF members from both retail and manufacturing sectors.
