Thomas Kyriaco, Customers Alimentation Initiative Director, Danone and Bertrand Swiderski, Sustainability Director, Carrefour Group, France joined forces at the Sustainable Retail Summit (SRS) in Lisbon at the end of October to speak about the latest ‘Collaboration for Healthier Lives’ (CHL) intervention that will be rolled out in France next year. The work is part of the CGF’s Health & Wellness strategy to empower consumers and communities around the world.

Thomas and Bertrand began by talking about the alignment of their corporate strategies (Food Transition, Carrefour and Food Revolution, Danone) and how together they are the driving forces for the launch of the french initiative. During a parallel interactive session on the second day of the SRS, entitled ‘Accelerating Change: Positive Actions for Business, People and Planet’, the pair talked about how they are actively inspiring healthier lives, by presenting an overview of the initiative ‘Ensemble, Vivons Mieux’ that will debut in Lyon, where they plan to use digital to help consumers ‘go green’ by measuring the items in their basket, educate consumers in-store on healthier products and recommend healthier canteen menus for children, as well as leverage on local activities.

The launch of CHL in France, follows the successful CHL initiatives that have already taken place in five countries around the world: Colombia, United States, Costa Rica, Turkey and Japan.

The french deployment of the initiative aims to onboard as many public and private players as possible including retailers, manufacturers, local authorities, associations and academics, with the objective of creating a strategic and innovative partnership to positively impact consumer behaviour.

Thomas and Bertrand invited delegates to support the initiative and to attend the launch meeting that will take place in Lyon on 20 November 2018.
