PARIS, 30th November 2020 — The Consumer Goods Forum is delighted to announce the following new companies have joined our global membership community and, in doing so, have confirmed their commitment to our vision of better lives through better business.

bord-bia-member-logoBord Bia, the Irish Food Board, is a government agency with a network of fifteen offices all around the world. Established over 25 years ago, Bord Bia’s key objective is to develop global markets and opportunities for Irish food, drink and horticulture producers.

Bord Bia is also responsible for creating and running Origin Green, a national food and drink sustainability programme, which has been in operation for over eight years. Origin Green’s purpose is to drive and monitor positive change across the entire Irish food and drink industry to continue to build and protect its global reputation for food sustainability. This pioneering programme remains the world’s only national food and drink sustainability programme that drives sustainability improvements across the entire supply chain.

Through Bord Bia’s long established and ongoing collaboration with the Irish agri-food and farming sectors, the organisation has firmly embedded sustainability practices, plans and strategies across the Irish food and drink industry. From a manufacturing perspective, Origin Green provides participating companies with the knowledge and know how to develop a third-party verified sustainability plan, which in turn companies use to provide trade customers and stakeholders with proof of their commitment to sustainability.

“Bord Bia is honoured and excited to join The Consumer Goods Forum. As organisations, we share a common purpose, working in collaboration with our key stakeholders to drive positive change. We look forward to learning and sharing best practice with this influential and relevant network of global industry players. Through this new relationship with CGF, I’m confident Bord Bia will gain a greater understanding of what the key issues are around sustainability and ultimately how, through Origin Green, we can play an integral part in addressing the common issues.” – Tara McCarthy, CEO, Bord Bia

This is exactly where the partnership with The Consumer Goods Forum comes into play, as we firmly believe, that only together can the current ecological and economic challenges be mastered. It takes a strong network of producers and retailers from all over the world, who jointly face the challenging tasks of our time. We are excited to be part of this network from now on.” – Norbert Weichele, CEO, Zentis

As the only association in the consumer goods industry that is truly global, while embracing both retailers and manufacturers, and service providers, our members understand the value of our uniqueness. Many of the opportunities and issues that we face as an industry can’t be addressed by individual companies alone, or just by collaborating regionally. The CGF offers you a seat at the table, and our members know that our global, cross-value chain perspective is critical to helping drive positive change globally and in securing long-term, sustainable business growth.
