In order to be recognised by the CGF’s Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative, social compliance schemes – and in the future, environmental schemes – have to undergo benchmarking according to the SSCI benchmark methodology and provide evidence that all SSCI Social and Scheme Management Benchmark Criteria are met. The SSCI currently benchmarks schemes covering activities in the Manufacturing and Processing, Primary Production, and At-Sea Operations sectors.
Schemes that have earned SSCI Recognition will be listed here, providing industry professionals with a trusted list of credible third-party auditing, monitoring and certification programmes. Schemes currently undergoing benchmarking are also listed here to follow their progress through the benchmarking process.
By joining forces, the SSCI and the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) are able to have a more meaningful impact within the seafood sector, avoid duplication by building on existing efforts and align market expectations towards third-party auditing, monitoring and certification programmes.
