SAP Rural Sourcing Management

SAP have developed a new mobile solution to connect smallholder farms to the agricultural supply chain. The platform leverages smartphone technology to capture data in-field as part of a paperless process to feed information to sourcing management teams. As a result, companies gain increased visibility on producers, their farms, and their local communities. The tool is currently in the early stages of commercialisation, having completed 16 successful pilots across six crop types in Africa.
