Plastic Waste Coalition Steering Committee Gathers in Brussels to Advance 2025 Priorities

The Consumer Goods Forum’s (CGF) Plastic Waste Coalition of Action convened its Steering Committee on 24th February in Brussels, bringing together representatives from 25 member companies to assess progress and align on key initiatives for 2025.

Discussions centred on design, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), alternative materials, reuse systems, and the ongoing negotiations for a global plastics treaty. A strong emphasis was placed on cross-industry collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and proactive engagement with policymakers.

Members also showcased innovative packaging solutions inspired by the Golden Design Rules, sparking dynamic discussions on best practices and opportunities for scaling sustainable alternatives.

The meeting underscored the importance of collective action in tackling plastic waste and fostering sustainable solutions. As 2025 progresses, the Coalition will continue to drive forward these initiatives, working toward systemic change across the industry.
