New SSCI benchmark consultation opens for Kenya Flower Council and MPS

Please note that this public consultation is now closed.

The Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI) is pleased to announce a public stakeholder consultation for two floral schemes; Kenya Flower Council (KFC), for its Flowers and Ornamentals Sustainability Standards (FOSS), and MPS for its MPS-Socially Qualified (MPS-SQ) standard. This consultation falls under the SSCI’s Primary Production scope for the SSCI Social Compliance Benchmark.

From 13 October to 13 November 2025, we invite all stakeholders with an interest in ethical trade, human rights, and sustainability to participate and share their feedback on KFC’s and MPS-SQ’s benchmarking reports.

This consultation is an important step of the SSCI Benchmarking Process ensuring transparency by inviting interested stakeholders to review and comment on the assessment carried out by the SSCI and the independent Benchmark Leader.

As key players in global floriculture, both KFC and MPS work to strengthen responsible practices across the flower industry. KFC, Kenya’s leading association for growers and exporters of cut flowers and ornamentals, promotes sustainable production using its internationally recognised FOSS standard. Meanwhile, MPS-SQ sets robust requirements for fair working conditions, health, and safety in agriculture, grounded in international labour and human rights principles.
