Project Gigaton

Project Gigaton is Walmart’s supplier enablement initiative that aims to avoid one gigaton (one billion metric tons) of carbon emissions by 2030. As of April 2022, Walmart is halfway along this journey, with the initiative encouraging suppliers to set environmental targets and reduce emissions across six key areas: energy, waste, packaging, transportation, nature, and product use and design.
