The SSCI Benchmark pillars and scopes



The SSCI Benchmark is open to auditing, monitoring, and certification programmes covering activities in several sectors across both social and environmental sustainability. Pillars categorise the primary area of sustainability compliance (social or environmental), while scopes represent the specific operational activities evaluated within those sectors.

Recognition Statuses


Programmes can be filtered by scope and status:





■Recognised: programmes that have successfully passed the SSCI benchmark for a particular scope.




■Conditionally recognised: programmes that meet overall SSCI benchmarking criteria, but hold provisional recognition status pending the completion of minor corrective actions within 12 months.




■In the benchmarking process: programmes that are currently undergoing SSCI benchmarking.





A note on the Monitoring of Continued Alignment Process (MoCA)



Recognition is based on continuous alignment with the SSCI benchmarking criteria. Alignment is monitored annually (the SSCI Integrity Programme) by an independent Benchmark Leader under supervision of SSCI’s Senior Technical Manager. The steps of the Monitoring of Continued Alignment (MoCA) process are:





MoCA 4-Step Process: Self-Assessment, Desktop Review, Office Visit, Industry Validation



Auditing, monitoring and certification programmes that have completed more than one year of the MoCA process now display the number of years they have maintained alignment.
