Consumer demand for sustainable products offers a huge opportunity in China. Yet, a gap remains between environmental attitudes and actual purchasing behaviour.

To help the consumer goods industry overcome this challenge, the China Working Group of The Consumer Goods Forum’s Climate Transition Coalition, in partnership with SynTao, has built a suite of resources tailored for the Chinese market. Developed under the ‘Green‑Consumption Promotion Project’, these materials translate complex technical data into practical frameworks.

Access the following resources:

  • Consumer information communication strategies and best practices for green-certified products (ZH/EN): This report provides actionable frameworks based on consumer behaviour models. Use it to develop targeted communication strategies with green certifications that are visible, understandable, and trustworthy.
  • The corporate compliance guide for green certification and assessment (ZH): This guide details domestic and international green certification systems. Use it to navigate standards, understand application procedures and manage compliance.
  • The consumer guide to green-certified products (ZH): This manual explains 21 common green certifications across product sourcing, manufacturing, and packaging. Use it to understand how certification labels look to the end consumer, helping them identify genuinely sustainable products.
