This World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2025, The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) is spotlighting the progress of its Employee Health & Wellbeing workstream in Latin America, where members, who employ over 5.8 million workers, are building the case for healthier and more resilient workplaces.

CGF LatAm Steering Committee Members, Theresa de la Garza, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at FEMSA Proximity and Health and Gina Haz, Chief of Staff at Danone Mexico present our progress on employee wellbeing in the Latin American region.

Over the past year, the Latin America Working Group participated in a first-of-its-kind benchmarking survey based on the CGF’s 7 Principles for Employee Wellbeing, developed with the McKinsey Health Institute. The survey offered a way for companies to assess how employee wellbeing is being embedded into their organisational culture, with each company assessing its progress against the principles.

The survey results revealed that companies are strong in rolling out targeted wellbeing initiatives  but need to go further in using data to shape long-term strategies. By participating in this survey and using the principles, members now have a shared foundation to refine their employee wellbeing strategies.

CGF members are also advancing wellbeing through regional and global initiatives. In Latin America, the Se Siente Bien campaign has already engaged 4,600 employees and families, while through the Workforce Nutrition Alliance (WNA) we aim to reach more than 10 million workers by 2030

By working with partners such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNi), the 18 retail and manufacturing companies that comprise the Employee Wellbeing Working Group are helping raise employee wellbeing standards worldwide.
