Local initiatives

Creating healthier communities starts with understanding local needs.

The Healthier Lives Coalition brings together manufacturers, retailers, public health organisations and community partners to develop practical solutions that make healthier choices easier and more accessible.

While our ambition is global, every community is different. That’s why our programmes are designed around local priorities, using shared expertise, evidence and collaboration to deliver initiatives that are relevant, measurable and scalable.

No single organisation can address today’s public health challenges alone. By working across sectors, we can accelerate progress, share what works and help create lasting improvements in health and wellbeing.

We continuously measure and evaluate our impact to understand what is making a difference. Through independent evaluation and shared learning, we refine our approach and support partners in delivering meaningful outcomes for the communities they serve.

France: Mon Restaurant Passe Au Durable

In the past four years, the Mon Restaurant Passe Au Durable (“My Restaurant Goes Sustainable”) initiative has continued to inspire chefs across France to adopt healthier and more sustainable recipes into their menus. The initiative has continued to be a collaborative effort from the CGF’s Healthier Lives Coalition in partnership with METRO France, and food manufacturers – Barilla, Bel, Bonduelle, Danone, Flora Food Group, Labeyrie Fine Foods, Nestlé, and Groupe Savencia.

Each September, new recipes are added to the recipe collection and shared with chefs across France with each recipe trialled by a professional chef, in collaboration with METRO France. These recipes support French restauranteurs in offering tasty, balanced meals at an affordable price – all under three euros. According to METRO France, the selected recipes are among the top ten most popular meals served in French professional kitchens.
