Who We Are
What We Do
The environmental impact related to palm oil has been on the industry’s radar for some time, however human rights and forced labour abuses in the supply chain of the world’s most traded oil have long been ignored. Our members are undertaking a series of initiatives to better understand the impact on their own palm oil supply chains and to develop and implement systemic measures to tackle abuses.
The consumer goods industry has a clear responsibility to play a key role in driving change and eradicating this problem from global seafood supply chains. Our members are now working collectively to implement our Principles in areas and geographies of key concern, starting with the seafood industry in Southeast Asia.
We at the CGF have identified three of the most problematic, yet often common employment practices across the world that can lead to cases of forced labour. To counter these three practices, we have produced the Priority Industry Principles.
