On 15 May, The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF)’s Health & Wellness Director Sharon Bligh spoke at an event on health & nutrition entitled ‘Retail & Wholesale Working for a Healthy Lifestyle’, hosted by EuroCommerce, the European Association for Retail and Wholesale. The event was held in Brussels and marked the launch of the EuroCommerce brochure on health and nutrition. The brochure features best practices and initiatives on health and nutrition from their members and other organisations.

The retail sector is an important stakeholder in the healthy lifestyles debate and has quickly responded to rising concerns, with many retailers rolling out initiatives to improve nutrition labelling, consumer information and product formulation. Sharon was able to share the work CGF members are doing as part of the ‘Collaboration for Healthier Lives’ initiative, a global convening power for stakeholders to learn and explore how retailers and manufacturers can together help people progress towards healthier baskets and take incremental steps towards living healthier lives.

The CGF is delighted to have participated in this event and to have contributed to the discussions on how retailers and wholesalers contribute to improve consumer’s diets and lifestyles, alongside Members of the European Parliament, officials of the European Commission, NGOs retailers and manufacturers.
