The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) is delighted to welcome Esselunga as its newest member of the Climate Transition Coalition of Action.

The Climate Transition Coalition of Action brings together consumer goods companies to accelerate meaningful progress on the sector’s climate journey. The Coalition’s ambition is to drive both emissions reduction and climate risk mitigation, recognising that cutting greenhouse gas emissions must go hand in hand with building resilience and supporting adaptation, particularly across complex, global supply chains.

As a member, Esselunga will collaborate with its peers to share best practices, develop tools, and support data-driven action. The Coalition helps members make concrete progress on emissions measurement, reporting, and reduction, while also building their capacity to adapt to climate risks in their operations and value chains.

Sharon Bligh, Director, Health and Sustainability, The Consumer Goods Forum, said:

“I warmly welcome Esselunga, another retailer joining the Climate Transition Coalition, a growing group of members looking to tackle scope 3 challenges together and learn from each other’s collective knowledge on supplier engagement and data for impact.”

Astrid Palmieri, CSO, Esselunga, said:

“We are delighted to join the Climate Transition Coalition. As a retail partner, our climate transition plan inevitably depends also on the decarbonization of our suppliers. We look forward to working together with retail and manufacturing members to pool our knowledge and experience and help drive collective action.”

We are excited about the collaboration ahead and confident that Esselunga’s participation will help drive forward the shared goal of a more sustainable, net-zero future.
