The CGF’s Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI) has closed the public consultation on the benchmark criteria for its Primary Production scope, which will recognise third-party social compliance audit schemes and programmes evaluating land-based agriculture and aquaculture activities. The Primary Production scope is the third scope under the SSCI, after Manufacturing and Processing, and At-Sea Operations.

The SSCI team would like to thank the 68 stakeholders who provided comments, which are now being reviewed by and incorporated into the benchmark criteria. The team also thanks the many stakeholders who joined the two webinars in November and December which introduced the benchmark criteria and offered an opportunity for the SSCI and its stakeholders to engage in direct dialogue on the criteria.

The Primary Production benchmark criteria are expected to be finalised in early 2021. Any additional comments about the benchmark criteria can be shared with the SSCI team at ssci@theconsumergoodsforum.com
