The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Collaboration for Healthier Lives Coalition of Action’s (CHL) Steering Committee, which consists of manufacturers, retailers and external partners, met in Copenhagen on 18 October 2023 ahead of the CGF Sustainable Retail Summit (SRS). Members participated in a full day of presentations and meetings to define a roadmap for 2024 and share insights from local markets. The overall aim was to share key learnings and decide on collective actions that empower consumers and employees to live healthier and more sustainable lives.

The key themes that ran throughout the meeting included: (consumer) behaviour change; healthier and more sustainable diets; employee health and wellbeing; and preventive health. These were based on the Coalition of Action’s revised ‘Better Options, Better Choices and Better Communities‘ strategy.

The Coalition of Action reviewed progress and results across its local Coalition for Healthier Lives (CHL) initiatives in China, France, Italy, Japan, Latin America, Portugal and Turkiye respectively. For Portugal, Jeronimo Martins made 35 health and sustainability commitments around compliance, reduction, and elimination of harmful substances in their private label products.
