CGF Supports Largest Business Focused Event to be Held During COP21; SIF15 Helping to Accelerate Low Carbon Development Solutions

PARIS, 30th October 2015 – The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) today announced a partnership with the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2015 (SIF15). The Sustainable Innovation Forum takes place on the 7th and 8th of December at Stade de France in Paris, just outside the Le Bourget area where the main COP21 negotiations are taking place. Now in its 6th year, and hosted by Climate Action and the UNEP at each COP, SIF15 is endorsed by the host country and COP21.

SIF15 is the largest business focused event taking place during the COP, uniting 80 speakers and 750 global delegates from public and private sector organisations to catalyse the partnerships needed to accelerate low carbon development solutions. Building on year-round work from Climate Action and the UNEP, the two-day forum will convene cross-sector participants from business, government, finance, the UN, NGOs and civil society to create an unparalleled opportunity to bolster business innovation and bring scale to the emerging green economy.

As part of its listing as an “Institutional Partner”, the CGF will be present at the event and will support relevant communications and marketing objectives.

About COP21
In 2015, France will be hosting and presiding the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21/CMP11), otherwise known as “Paris 2015” from November 30th to December 11th. COP21 will be a crucial conference, as it needs to achieve a new international agreement on the climate, applicable to all countries, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C. France will therefore be playing a leading international role to ensure points of view converge and to facilitate the search for consensus by the United Nations, as well as within the European Union, which has a major role in climate negotiations.
