Towards Decarbonising Freight Transport in Latin America (White Paper)

Decarbonising freight transport is crucial to tackling climate change in Latin America. As one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the region, this sector plays a fundamental role in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

To drive this process forward, The CGF, Data-Driven Value Chain LatAm working Group developed this handbook with CGF member, LOGYCA in Colombia. It analyses the challenges and opportunities that companies face on their path to decarbonization and presents practical strategies and tools for a more sustainable future. The working group contributed its experience in data collection and analysis to support this initiative.

Decarbonising freight transport in the region is an ambitious but achievable challenge. It requires a comprehensive and collaborative approach between governments, businesses and civil society, the implementation of innovative technologies and the strengthening of regional cooperation. These actions are essential to achieve significant GHG reductions in the sector.
