Sales Double on Featured Products as Carrefour & Partners Inspire Seasonal Eating

The Context

Many consumers struggle to adopt and sustain seasonal, nutritious, and affordable eating habits. That’s why members of The CGF Healthier Lives Coalition, Carrefour, along with four manufacturers (Danone, Fleury Michon, Flora Food Group, and Savencia), partnered to share recipes encouraging customers to use seasonal, more sustainable ingredients in cooking.

The recipes were created with the Carrefour Engaged Consumers Club, a group of French citizens who actively promote responsible consumption.

The Initiative

In mid-October, shoppers at a Carrefour supermarket in Ulis, tasted seasonal dishes cooked by a chef in-store during a promotional event. The recipes included seasonal produce (such as apples, cauliflower, celery) and featured products from the participating manufacturers.

The Impact

Sales of featured products increased by 108% during the promotional week vs last year.
Sales of fruits and vegetables increased by +10 % vs last year.
The Learning

The campaign showed that when retailers and manufacturers support consumers with simple, affordable recipe inspiration, it proves beneficial for consumers, business, and the planet.
