PARIS, 15th June 2016 – The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2016 Health & Wellness Measurement & Reporting exercise. The Survey, now in its 4th year, continues to grow in influence as a key tool for members of the CGF to highlight their positive actions towards empowering healthy consumers globally through the implementation of the CGF Health & Wellness Resolutions and Commitments.
2016 is a big year for members of the CGF as two Health & Wellness Commitments are expected to come to fruition at the end of the year:
This year’s survey is, therefore, vital in showing the progress being made by all CGF members and to demonstrate their commitment to being part of the solution to today’s leading health and wellness challenges.
Results from the 2015 survey showed good progress in some key areas, at the same time more needs to be done to harness the consumer goods industry’s collective power. With a specific focus on the two Commitments ending this year, 2015 results showed:
The members behind the work of the Health & Wellness Pillar are now expecting to see an increase in the number of respondents and an increase in those reporting, especially on the above two Commitments. Product formulation policies are relevant to both food and personal care and hygiene manufacturers and retailers, while employee health and wellness is relevant to all 400 members of the CGF. With the 2016 progress report scheduled for January 2017, the industry has an opportunity to inspire positive action.
All CGF members are encouraged to participate in the Survey and complete those questions that are relevant to their businesses. The Health & Wellness team remain at your disposal should you have any questions or need help to complete the Survey (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The 2016 Progress Report (with 2015 survey results) is one of the most downloaded CGF documents ever, which highlights its importance and relevance to both members and external stakeholders. If your company wants to be publicly acknowledged as being part of the solution, complete the simple survey before the September 2016 deadline.

The mission of the CGF’s Health & Wellness work is to empower consumers globally to make more informed diet and lifestyle choices. Its primary strategy is to drive implementation of its Health & Wellness Resolutions (Board-approved in 2011) and Commitments (Board-approved in 2014) and publicly report on members’ progress. The Health & Wellness Pillar is also engaging with external stakeholders and telling its story, showcasing how the consumer goods industry is having a positive impact on the global health agenda and empowering consumers worldwide. This is done through a number of publications, tools, videos and other resources, as well as through regular meetings and more than 50 practical examples of how members are implementing the Resolutions and Commitments.
